Dr. Deepak Pawar

Dr. Deepak Pawar is a prominent scholar serving as the Professor and Head of the Department of Civics and Politics at the University of Mumbai.

He is a multifaceted political analyst, language activist, columnist, writer, editor, and translator, contributing significantly to the discourse on language and politics in India. His research projects include a comparative analysis of language policy and politics between India and Pakistan, funded by the Observer Research Foundation, and an oral history project addressing the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute, supported by the Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan.

Dr. Pawar has authored several notable works, including "Post Globalisation Politics of Language in Maharashtra" and "Marathi Bhashechi Ashwetapatrika," a status report on the Marathi language in 2013. He has presented research papers on topics such as language and politics in contemporary Maharashtra and the reservation for OBCs at various seminars.

His contributions have earned him several accolades, including the Madhav Julian Bhashakavya Puraskar and the B.G. Dhavale Award for Language Activism. Dr. Pawar's work continues to influence discussions on language rights and governance, solidifying his role as a key figure in the promotion of the Marathi language and cultural identity.

Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi

Professor Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi is a distinguished scholar in peace and conflict studies, serving as the Honorary Director of the Nelson Mandela Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution in New Delhi. With over 20 years of teaching and research experience, he specializes in international relations, foreign policy, and security issues, focusing particularly on India’s strategic relations with West Asia and North Africa.

He is currently guiding six doctoral researchers in the fields of conflict and peace, as well as political, economic, and strategic development. Professor Rizvi earned the prestigious Nehru Memorial Museum & Library (NMML) Scholarship for his doctoral studies and has actively contributed to academic discourse, chairing national seminars and delivering lectures on conflict resolution initiative.

He recently led a seminar on India’s interconnections with West Asian countries at Jamia Millia Islamia and has spoken extensively on peace initiatives in the West Asia and North Africa region. Additionally, he is a member of the Aligarh Muslim University Court, nominated by the President of India.

 Under his leadership, the Nelson Mandela Centre has emerged as a prominent institution dedicated to research, education, and advocacy in conflict resolution, human rights, and sustainable development, fostering peace and understanding in society.

Prof Ranjana Patnaik

Professor Ranjana Patnaik is a distinguished scientist and the Dean of the School of Biomedical Sciences at Galgotias University, with an impressive career spanning 38 years in teaching and research. Renowned for her work in neurosciences, she has made significant contributions to the fields of cerebral stroke and neuroprotection. Over her career, she has supervised eight Ph.D. candidates at IIT BHU and is currently mentoring three more as the primary supervisor and fourteen as a co-supervisor. Her research expertise has positioned her among the top ranks in international brain research, where she has achieved the 8th rank for most published authors over her lifetime. In recognition of her remarkable contributions, Professor Patnaik received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Science, Medical, and Engineering in 2020 and the National Award in 2011 from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, for developing a low-cost multi-use hearing aid. Additionally, she has been honored with the Rashtriya Gaurav Award and the Best Citizen of India Award in 2014, as well as the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award that same year. Her service as an Ex-Member of the National Bureau of Accreditation underscores her commitment to enhancing educational standards in the scientific community. Through her research and mentorship, Professor Patnaik continues to inspire future generations of scientists and contribute to advancements in biomedical sciences.

Prof. Aarti Srivastava

Professor Aarti Srivastava is an esteemed faculty member in the Department of Higher & Professional Education at the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) in New Delhi. She serves as the coordinator of the National Resource Centre for Education and leads the Leadership Programme for Vice Chancellors and potential vice chancellors.

With a doctorate from Jawaharlal Nehru University and dual master’s degrees in Economics and Education, she brings extensive expertise to her field. Professor Srivastava has held key positions in premier research institutes, including the Institute of Applied Manpower Research and the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, and has worked at the University of Delhi and Banaras Hindu University.

During her tenure at BHU, she collaborated with the University of Wisconsin’s center in Varanasi. Her contributions to national educational frameworks, including the NCF 2005 and various international projects, underscore her influence in higher education. She has led inter-ministerial initiatives with the Australian government and participated as a special invitee at the BRICS Presidents Forum in China.

Professor Srivastava is also on the editorial boards of several indexed journals and has published extensively on topics such as employability, gender, teaching-learning, and leadership in higher education.

Prof. Balaganapathi Devarakonda

Former Head, Department of Philosophy,

University of Delhi, New Delhi

Professor Balaganapathi Devarakonda is a prominent philosopher and former Head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Delhi. His academic interests encompass philosophical counseling, early Buddhism, and the historiography of Indian philosophy. Certified as a philosophical practitioner by the American Philosophy Practitioners Association, he brings a unique perspective to his field. Currently, he holds the ICCR Chair of Indology and Gandhian Studies at the University of the West Indies, Mona, from May 2022 to May 2024. His international engagement includes serving as a Project Fellow for the initiative “Great Transition in India: A Korean Perspective on Indian Studies” at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, South Korea, from 2021 to 2024. Professor Devarakonda has held several significant administrative roles, including Chancellor’s nominee on the Board of Management at Mohan Lal Sukhadia University from 2018 to 2020 and Chairman of the Governing Body of Maitreyi College, New Delhi, during the 2019-2020 academic year. He was also a member of the Governing Body of Bhagini Nivedita College for 2020-2021 and contributed to the Review Committee of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, appointed by the MHRD, Government of India, in 2018. His editorial contributions to journals such as the Journal of Human Values and the Journal of Indian Council of Philosophical Research further underscore his commitment to advancing philosophical discourse in India and beyond.

Prof. Gaurav Jha

Professor Gaurav Jha is a prominent figure in international relations and policy research, currently serving as the President of the International Institute of Independent Indices (i5 Institute), which he founded to enhance global political economy analysis through the development of objective indices. With over 12 years of experience in media and policy research, he previously held the position of Additional Private Secretary at the Union Finance Ministry in New Delhi.

An alumnus of Harvard University’s HPAIR program, Professor Jha is also a UGC NET scholar and has authored over 25 publications, including international research papers and book chapters. His expertise spans international relations, policy research, and journalism, reflecting his commitment to rigorous analysis and innovation in the field.

Professor Jha is currently involved in projects with the United Nations’ Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) in Vienna and participated in the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) conference in 2015. His passion for writing, traveling, and exploring new ideas further enriches his work, making significant contributions to the understanding of political and economic conditions across more than 150 countries. Prof. Dattesh D. Parulekar

Professor Parulekar possesses a profound understanding of India's diplomatic strategies and international engagements, analyzing how these elements shape the nation's global standing. His specialization in Sino-Indian relations involves a comprehensive examination of the intricate dynamics between India and China, delving into their economic, political, and military interactions. Prof. Meera Khanna

President, Guild for Service

 

Professor Meera Khanna is a distinguished Indian writer, poet, and gender rights activist, currently serving as President of the Guild for Service, where she also holds the position of Trustee and Executive Vice President. Her work in the development sector is particularly focused on women’s empowerment and capacity building in rural India, advocating for social justice and equality. Professor Khanna has played a significant role as a consultant to the Government of India’s High Level Committee on the Status of Women, established by the National Commission for Women and the Supreme Court of India. She is notably recognized for drafting the Resolution on Widows for UN Action, which was presented to Michelle Bachelet, the first Under Secretary General and Executive Director of UN Women. Her impactful contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the Women Achievers Award from Amity University in 2018 and the Fostering Peace Within the Individual award in 2019 from The Women’s Federation for World Peace. Additionally, she was featured in UN Women India's Mujhe Haq Hai campaign, which encourages women to challenge societal norms. As an author, Professor Khanna has published several significant works, including "If There Be a Paradise" (2012), "Living Death: The Trauma of Widowhood in India" (2012), "In a State of Violent Peace" (2015), "Breaking Paths" (2019), and "Mantras for Positive Ageing" (2021), showcasing her commitment to highlighting and addressing pressing social issues.

Prof. Sanjay Bhardwaj

Professor Sanjay Bhardwaj, a distinguished faculty member at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, has dedicated over 21 years to teaching and research supervision. He served as the Director of the Energy Studies Programme from 2016 to 2018 and specializes in India’s foreign policy, particularly regarding its neighboring countries—Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and China.

 His academic interests encompass a broad spectrum of topics, including the history, identity, politics, and foreign policy issues of South Asia, with a focus on border and maritime security, politico-security concerns, and the interconnections of water, environment, and energy security. Additionally, he examines the influence of China and the USA on South Asia's political landscape, as well as regional cooperation frameworks like SAARC and BIMSTEC.

 Professor Bhardwaj's research accomplishments are notable, having received several prestigious fellowships, including the SUSI Fellowship in 2018 at the University of Delaware, the CASS-ICSSR Fellowship in 2013 at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the ASIA Fellowship in 2010-2011 at the University of Dhaka. His work has significantly contributed to understanding the complex dynamics of South Asian geopolitics, especially regarding Bangladesh and Pakistan's politico-security issues and broader regional cooperation strategies.
